These Twin plug and sockets by REMA are commonly used with truck and trailer connection.
Prior to standardization REMA has developed this two pole electrical connection. These robust connectors have proofed there reliability already for decades. Focus of applications of these connectors are electrical connections between trailer and towing machine on road trucks. The contact design has large connection surfaces with a spring loaded connector pin sliding into the sleeves inside the female connector. This results to extremely low resistance in the electrical connection.The contacts show a differentiation between solder and crimp connections.
On top the twin plug and sockets have:

The REMA devoloped contacts made out of pure high conductive Cu-ETP copper with silver plated surface and an anti-friction and tarnish coating ensure a power transition with minimal losses and a long life. The DIN 640 battery connector is suitable for a wide range of cable sizes. Cables from 70 mm² to 240 mm² can be crimped directly without using a reducing bushing. For best performance results and durability, the special developed REMA Crimp die sets and tools should be used.
